A 5 year old child is brought by his parent to see a pediatrician. They tell the doctor that their child complains of bilateral leg pain and he has a waddling gait. Additionally, his legs are bowed outward, which has become more pronounced during the last year.Further questioning reveals that the parents have been travelling in Asia during the last year and the family is strictly vegan ( they don t consume meat or any milk products). The pediatrician suspects the child has rickets. This disease is characterized by which of the following changes in his bones?

decreased mineralization and increased osteoid....rickets in children...osteomalacia in adults..
compare with osteoprosis where both of them are decreased so sparse trabeculae are seen
