same boat with multiple attempts, but i have research, publications, volunteering, etc. just had a tough time with exams due to medical reason, but afraid no prorgam dircector will even give it a chance.

  #3

I have high scores, with a good CV and 2006 grad, and nothing but 4 rejections. Getting weary

  #4

great thread friends... this will help a lot of people to realize they have chance and encourage them regarding what matters the most; to give the best at the interviews (besides coming out of the shadows in this forum, since most of the members are not 99ers)...

I agree. I think it will help organize some of the groups here if we started posting in similar thread based on boards score. I started one for peopel that were getting in the 80s. Hopefully, it will open up some members. Those with similar credentials can post here.........

Good luck to everyone..........Im sure we'll all match grin

Im joining this thread too. Here are my stats:

December 2006 grad (Caribbean)
Step 1: 79 (first attempt)
Step 2CK: 78 (first attempt)
Step 2CS: Pass (first attempt)
Step 3: 77 (first attempt)
ECFMG Certified: April 2007
2 years of US clinical experience (all third year core and fourth year elective rotations completed in hospitals in the US)
Canadian citizen (native english speaker)
6 LORs from US attendings
Applied to 38 IM, 41 FM, and 10 Anesthesia (for the heck of it) - first choice would be either IM or Anesthesia, FM is my plan B

My stats are grim and Im quited concerned about this whole match process. I just hope I match somewhere - ANYWHERE!

Hello all I am also a low scorer,
grad 2003/79/83/pass/ step3 nov 15 all first attempt, + MS Biochemistry, publication, USCE and US LOR's
Applying for OB/Gyn so far 22 programs, no answer from any, my biggest concern is that I will be hopeful unless I get a rejection. Are the programs requiered to send you a rejection letter? or is not mandatory?
if so... when should we get that?
thanks for your help

I like thsi thread and I am here to tell you guys.. you can make it.

I had mediocre scores ( not 90s) -- 83/89/pass with no USCE and needed visa. I applied last year and was almost offered pre match form 2 places and signed a prematch in one hospital that I adored the day I interviewed with them. So guys, even if you have low scores, you can still make it.

For those of you who have GC, you should worry less. I am sure there are plenty of places who invite low score GC. Just prepare well for the interviews, a good personal statement and your determination can make the difference.

For people like me : who needed visa; you can do it too. Explain your experience and accomplishments in PS. You may also wnat to try applying for research postions or externships in your areas. Hospitals like Overlook Hosp, NJ; St Barnabas NJ; St Vincent's Charity Hospital OH; NYMC hospitals in NY. interviewed people with scores in 80s. If you have your seniors in a particular program, it may be a good idea to speak to them and apply in those programs. Your seniors may also help you in getting externships in these places.

A lot of hospitals in New Wngland area actually like to invite people regardless of their scores if you have UK experience. This is what helped me a lot last year.

People who have high scores like in 90s, YOU should not be in this thread. May be they feel better in this group as cant match the 99 league
