Dear BBB,
I am and IMG, completed step 1 and in my 4th year of med school. I am scheduled to take Step 2 CK on Sept 25th, and since I am concentrating on this a lot I am not working on my application.

Am I going to be really disadvantaged by submitting my application by begining oct.
I know the earlier the better, but am I just excluding myself from some interviews by doing this.

Step 1 score is in the 90s, good LORs, and USCE are all covered.

Please advise what I should do.....
Should I delay step 2ck for mid/late oct so that i can start working on my eras application right now and have it submitted by late sept, or keep working on step 2ck, take it by sept 25th and then work quickly on the eras application.

Thank you so much for your help.
I am really confused and your advise is greatly appreciated.

Ah, new member, you have read my hundreds of posts where I write:

Apply as soon as you can with as complete of an application as you can

Thanks BBB,
I guess i'll have to wait until i've taken step 2...that's the earliest i can start working on it.

On a separate note...until when do you still usually have spots for interviews...does a person who has submitted in mid oct have a chance if they are good candidates or are pretty much all spots gone.

thanks again bbb...
p.s. what does bbb stand for? or are we not supposed to know smiling face

BBB actually has nothing to do with anything to do with residency. It's a poke at some internet friends that I have.

Most of my interviews are filled by the middle to end of November. That's all my spots through the end of January.
