Dear applicant, Thank you for forwarding your application to our Residency program. After a full review of your application by the Residency Review Committee, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you an interview at this time. We have received a vast amount of applications and are unfortunately unable to accommodate all interested applicants. We hope for the best for you in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Marc Shalaby, MD Program Director Lehigh Valley Hospital Internal Medicine/Transitional Residency Program Department of Medicine

what would be funnier is if they would just say what they are really thinking. Thank you for your application, which is #3500 for me now. I'd rather be at home with my wife and kids rather than sending out massive amounts of emails to you people who must have some delusional or manic psychiatric condition with visions of grandeur to think you could actually get into our program. Take your lithium, come back down to earth, and don't reply to this email. No but in all seriousness, you can get a sense of these program coordinators' frustration. Some have an okay attitude, some are curt in their responses. I actually feel sorry for them. They have to do this every year, and it's only getting worse (more applicants every year). They have filters, and they're not afraid to use them!
