If the photo is downloaded by a prog I applied to, then does it mean that they r going to grant me an interview?

No.. they all can downland it. They just can't SEE it until they grant you an interview.

And that has changed this year. Photos are available just like they were in the days when applicants mailed in applications. They are there.

It's optional, I believe - check with ERAS to make certain.
