Hi Sandsim 2001, I don't think you should be worried at all for the Immigration clearance at JFK Airport. I entered the USA through JFK on a B1 visa and the "reception" by the Immigration Officer was very courteous. He greeted me with a "Hi, how ya doin'", and asked me my purpose of visit to the USA. I just had to show him the letter issued by the ECFMG and scheduling permit, and he asked me how long was I planning to stay ( 5 1/2 months), then stamped 6 months on my I-94 and wished me "Best of Luck for your exam". So, although I had similar apprehensions like you did before landing here, I was pleasantly surprised with the Immigration Experience.

I did that, and I think they'll round it off to the nearest month. Like I mentioned 5 1/2 months, and he stamped the last date of departure which was 6 months from my date of entry, which suited my purpose perfectly well.
