can any1 tell me for anes do IMGs need to do 1yr IM/Surg prelim compulsorily? cant we get anes categorical directly? n vat does 1yr transitional mean? is it that we have to do 1yr prelim IM only in the univ that offers anes or could it be jz any other univ too?

Mazinger and Whackydoc, I think it will be useful to start a discussion thread regarding interviews and rejects similar to IM. Even though there may be only a few people interested, it could still be worthwhile. I have applied to around 30 Anes programs (apart from IM) mainly in PA, NY, NJ. If any of you has applied to programs given below and have heard from them please let me know. Have two rejects: Wayne State and UPMC till date. Not expecting a lot of IVs in the remaining too.
