PO2 A-V difference in a resting skeletal muscle when you give a vasodilator. (assume no effect on metabolism).------it would decrease

vasodilatation so inc in bl flow n o2 deliver....no change in metabolism so o2 needed is unchanged...so less o2 removed from each ml of blood..so a-v diff dec

Thanks for nice explanation
yes you are right

re heart muscle.. o2 consumptions is already at its maximum.. so need of high o2 only met by vasodilation which occurs thru autoregulation...

so heart regulates its blood flow acc to its o2 req

all r welcome tocorrect me if I seem to b confused.. this was what i understood ..sticking out tongue

hi kity thanks for the explanation...need of o2 met by vasodilatation which causes inc in blood flow which can fulfill the o2 requirement...so the av difference must be unchanged isn't it..... kity me too not very sure of this conceptconfused

  #72

i think the av difference inc when the blood flow in heart does not increase in proportion to metabolism in order to meet tissue demands..any one plz clarify.raised eyebrowconfused
