First Psychiatry Interview from a university hospital in NJ. Barely meet their criteria. Cannot believe it.
The reason i am posting this is to let you know that i was as skeptical of my chnaces this year as any of you. Seeing the credentials thread, i almost thought i have no chance getting calls early. But well, if i can get a call then all of of have better chances as ya'll are fresh graduates.

Nadia my credentials.
img from Pakistan.
graduated in 2002.
Step 1 92/227 Step 2 94/232 cs cleared Ecfmg certified. GC 4 months of working with pvt physician in the clinic as well as the pvt hospital.
4 months of volunteer work once per week at a free clinic. 2 USLOR, 3 lor from Pakistan.
but assigned both USLOR to all programs and then just one from home country.
3 weeks rotation/observership at a teaching hospital. (No LOR from here .)
PUchpal, congratulations, First of all i would say confirm your dates with the PC.
Then about preparation i dont know.( mine is in november) I was thinking abt getting some feedback from a current psych resident friend. As soon as i hear something, i wills hare. Meanwhile simply browsing these forums from last year can be great help.

I got one interview call from Henry Ford...but they wanted to interview in oct, when I told them that I am not in USA and will be coming in nov , and please give me a date in nov, they said that the nov dates are not opened yet, please contact us in a few weeks...  ( i am very depressed,,,,have I just lost my only call????

which programs sponsor H1 besides the "good ol' list".. anyone has any contributions to that list??
Btw, do u also observe a quite obvious increase in competitiveness of psych over the last 2 years??

but deferring an iv at henry ford......
i dont think its a wise decision
they can offfer a prematch ( have done in the past)
call them and go for the iv ASAP

I know Emory is very high end… I did not even apply there for the same reason.

True….. there site does say that but when I the called the PC in August she said… scores r most important.
Secondly if you look @ there current list of residents on there site there is not more than 1 fmg per year out of 12 positions.

i dont know but emory is competetive it seems, I have 4 yrs experience in Jamaica Bellevue, did lot of research on Marijuana abuse
Lets see how it goes. some programs stressing on step 3.
