Alcohol withdrawal: usually appears within a few hrs of stopping or decresing consumption,generally lasts 3 to 4 days .S/S: tachycardia,tremulousness,diaphoresis,nausea,orthostatic hypotension,malaise or weakness ,anxiety,irritability,hallucination,delirium temens Rx Chlordiazepoxide

Benzo withdrawal : long acting like diazepam begins later 4 to 10 days after drug discontinuation and reaches its peak slowly around 7th day

S/S anxiety,agitation,orthostatic hypotension,hyperreflexia,clonic blink reflex.fever diaphoresis,delirium,diaphoresis.delirium,seizures ,cardiovascular collapse

RxPhenobarbital ,Phentobarbital to sustitute for offending subs and gradually withdrawn
