i,m krishna an iternational med gradute from india.i want to apply for neurology next year badly.i dont have publications.i did rotations on adult neurology for 2 months at v.a medical centre,2 months in michigan childrens hospital in peads neurology,clinical research and externship from past 6 months in the outpatient department of detroit medical centre,basic science research on cortical pericytes as a research technician,will be graduating in masters of exercise physiology at eastern michigan university...i dint do any prelim year but i want to apply for both prelim and advanced...i dont have great scores..i have 86 and 91 in step 1 n 2...cs cleared but have to give step 3 shortly..is step 3 very necessary for neurology..

even with these credentials i,m not getting i.vs..do u think that i dint give step 3 is the reason...please guide me....

I do not think step 3 is a major factor here in Neurology. There are hardly any programs that give you a prematch. From what i understand, for an IMG being certified is enough as long as usmle exams are concerned. Well then again the rest of the baggage like US LORs, research, USCE make up the rest. This is what i am thinking...I may be wrong...Any thoughts?
