waitingforiv, i thought an MSPE was mandatory for the process...i thought that if your school doesn't make them, you make them and then have the school's dean sign it. Im NOT sure though. It's really just a formality, but you'd hate to have that technicality going against you. good luck

Finally got the guts to email programs and rain of rejections from the places you guys enumerated before but i was in denial about. Haha. Sad, I was really looking forward to Albany. Technically, you just need one, right?! So scared about the match.

thanks HighHopes, honeysuckle, ALS, sunmatch and tufts ... my 2 cents on the MSPE thing ... well, i went to school in Pakistan and they usually give out a dean's letter that talks about the student as a whole .. its more like an LoR i guess .. i asked a few ppl and from what i understood, they now ask that there be some sort of evaluation in the letter e.g. ur grades in clinical rotations or the end of the year exams or something .. so i requested the dean and they put in my rotation scores for the 4 core rotations and it worked ... some of my friends got the letter without any evaluation apart from the standard "he/she is of good moral character" and they submitted their five year transcript along with the application so programs could look at the evaluation on that if they wanted ... for most of them it worked but some places were adamant on having MSPE's and didnt accept the dean's letter ... try explaining to them and if u have submitted ur transcript then technically that should help .. good luck to us all

Thanks for the info guys....I called the PD up and they said MSPE was not really required but they wanted to make sure that it wasnt a mistake by ERAS or my omission. They did suggest to me that I get a more detailed dean's letter that they can substitute as MSPE....I have requested that from my college and hopefully should be on its way soon....that settles a fluttering heart pretty quickly......

i dont want to sound cynical or discourage everybody but majority of the places I applied in and inquired abt the status of my app have answered me back with a rejection. So there. I think there is always the hope of AMGs or top IMGs cancelling out their invites. It aint over till it's over

i was talking to my better half the other day and came to realize that we are never satisfied with anything! the more we have the more we want! i got 71 in step1 and one of my friends got a 76 .. he told me that he would gladly exchange scores with me and get a second shot and i told him that i would exchange with him cuz he had passed and i hadnt .... a few months later i was sitting there with a 81 and was still not satisfied cuz i wanted a 90 or more .. last year i applied for match late december and didnt get any interviews so i thought, next year i'll be happy even if all i get is 1 interview ... this year i have 3 and am thinking that i need more to be sure!! i guess it never ends! if the son of Adam has one valley of gold, he desires a second .... very true! so, from now on, i'm going to try and be thankful for what i have and not complain for that which i dont .. that way, when i get what i dont have, i'll be thankful for that as well good luck everyone!
