What a day its been for me !!! called almost all the programs that i applied to and got rejections from everywhere except 4 some places that said that they're still reviewing !!
i have rejections from all of the following;

thats 21/54 that i applied to! im thinking that when i call the other 23 tomorrow, i'm going to get rejections from most of em as well ! the places that said that they're still reviewing are;

another thing .. the PC at Cleveland clinic said that the PD is the only one that decides who to invite and also is the only who reviews the applications ... the Chair has no say in the selection of the candidates ...

iv from Uni of kansas.
sorry didnt post my credentials the previous time.
95/97/certified/ first attempt/ 2005 graduate/one and half year of neuro ressearch/ 3 months clerkship/ 6 abstracts/1 paper
so far 5 neuro calls out of 25 programs applied.
12 IM calls.

Hey does the specific neuro research count or any research experience is enough? I am asking because i am also applying to neuro and IM both next year and am starting work on a clinical study involving central venous catheters and infection [what else!] which'd last at least a year [it's a pilot] . I'll also do mostly IM obser/extern whatever i get next summer. So anything specific neuro is needed or IM experience is counted?

Hope you have better spirit. appreciate your encoragement to everyone in this forum. I think as you said we have started this journey, we have to do something to make some progress. Just think what we can do next instead of frustrution.

So, I called a few more programs;
University of Arkansas is still reviewing
Emory still reviewing (they only send emails to invitees)
Henry Ford .. no info, please call on Monday
MSU .. wierd phone service
UMDNJ .. still reviewing
UW Madison .. will contact applicants next week
no rejections today!

Miradautas, to semi-address your query, I don't have any neuro research...and Im still waiting for a neuro interview...hahaha...do the math and the interpolation I guess! But if you really want it, go for it (my motto in life!--brought me a lot of disappointments, but i think Im gonna see the victories too...a.k.a. nobel prize with ultra-amazing Parkinsons Disease research)...Ok, am I on drugs here or what? hahaha...I guess running really brought on the endorphin surge...snap me out of the depressed-coz-my-inbox-is-empty-mood...

Thanks everyone !! the interview i got is from Cleveland Clinic Ohio ... My mentor from research had sent out some emails last month yet i still got rejections from most of the places that he emailed except for these guys ... nyways .. Good luck to everyone
