Well I have not read that document doc but I am sure if you agree with me its prolly right.... ....but its not me that coined this...you visit every forum and talk to ANY resident (IMG ie).....they will emphasize the importance of contacts.....now that is not to say ALL IMGs get residencies on the basis of contacts....If you have graduated in 2006-07, 99/99, Some USCE.....then you have a 1:1 chance almost at par with an AMG of getting an interview (please notice the word is interview....matching is upto your performance in the interview and a myriad other factors)......but for the REST of US OLD grads (>5 years) and low scorers, attempters....etc etc .....hope is not lost but without contacts you are pretty much dead in the water if you fall in this latter category....BUT IF YOU HAVE CONTACTS....I have seen people with atrocious scores, numerous attempts, no USCE. yada yada get into programs....(and these are personal accounts not those "my friend's friend got into" legends :nod .....So if you do fall into the PREVIOUS OVERACHIEVER CATEGORY then forget contacts./.....on the other hand if you belong to NOTORIOUSLY UNDERACHIEVING INCORPORATED like me.....then go start collecting some visiting cards .....

rejections , rejections , i can see only this from neurology,
8 rej till day and only 1 iv.(cleceland clinic
89, 93, ecfmg certified and no usce.

Hey you have no right to crib drmaran......you have an IV and that too from a place like cleveland clinic....in case you havent noticed most people here are waiting for their first IV.....so I suggest you pipe down and be thankful for what you have in hand and worry about whats in the bush later.....sorry to be harsh but with the sitiuation as of now your crib is not exactly warranted.....although totally understandable...cheers!!!! No more rejects today....only 1......yohooooooo

They could also add this line " Since you are a measly temporary visa holder from a third world nation we would prefer hiring mediocre local residents than the best you have to offer....thanks anyways..........now you can go back to your miserable life in suspended friggin animation",........

Actually SIU school of medicine rejected me but their title said "Interview at SIU ...".....then I got another mail next day apologizing for the mistake.....I was like what the hell call me even if its a mistake people.....sometimes mistakes can be great......whaddya think fellow neurologists?.....

Man it seems neurology is getting so tough for IMGs now , time is going by and no ivs yet, I got message from 1 prog that u r on hold but all our iv slots r filled, all my dreams of neurology are shattered now

I applied to Im...but just one interview out of 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had applied to all the ghetto programs....but the fact I am an old grad and no USCE counted against me
