Hi neuroblastoma,
I don't think you are having a "mental problem", is perfectly normal to be stress out about something so relevant in your life,,,what seems to me is that you are letting that stess to control you and that's why it is affecting you in a negative way.
I suggest you try to have some other activities during the day that relax you, perhaps watching tv for an hour or going for a walk...not only study, study, study without a break.
Also I think you should try to do this in a "schedule-like way", so you won't feel guilty of leaving your studies for a little bit.
Other thing I do myself is "positive reinforcement", I study hard till I cover certain amount of things,,,and then I'm "allow to" go to the movies that weekend... stuff like that.
I hope this helps,,,wink

Hi Neuroblastoma, I should say your reactions are not only normal, but common. Please rest assured that we all go through conditions like that.

Now I would suggest you talk with some friends who can really understand you and lift you up. We need friendship. Sometime it works like magic. After chatting, you will have a new insight, you are filled with energy and hope again! I know during study time, we try our best to shield things and people out of our world. But I guess now you need your best friend to talk.

Or take a few hours to read a very inspiring book.

You will get over it as a very smart, intelligent and strong person, friend.wink Life is good. Study is good. Having health is good. Being able to serve in the near future is good. Having the luck to go through this short, precious life is the best!smiling facewink

neuroblastoma,me too going through same period.
i'm completely closing my books and enjoying (watching movies, going to new places, shopping etc..)for a day or two.then only i can concentrate again.and i wonder whether it is normal or not.but, that suits me and so i'm continuing.
work out is also a good remedy for stress.u can jog or go for a walk .
and don't block your mind with continuous thoughts of studying ,as it too wants to relax once a while.smiling face

We have all been through this: it's perfectly normal. It is called USMLE-induced stress disorder.... The only thing I can tell you is that it is completely reversible once you've done with this odissey..
