Guys I am very frustrated: I can't find a spot for this exam before february and on top of that I can't concentrate to study without knowing if I will be able to make it for 2008 match. It's really a pity since I studied so hard to finish step 1 and 2ck in time but I couldn't imagine that it was gonna take so long for booking a spot. How can we book and pay $1200 5 months in advance for an exam that requires around 1,5 mo to prepare? I don't understand why they don't open more centers considering that there are so many people trying to do this test. I am really frustrated I could imagine of failing to move to the US because of failing step 1 or step 2ck, but now that I passed them I can't accept the fact of not being able to move just because I cannot book in time...

Dates continously open up, especially as the dates get closer. Usually many dates will open up 15 days ahead of the exam cause people avoid the 400 dollar charge if you cancel within 14 days of the exam, so don't get tensed up. Set up e-mail notifications, and stay in front of the computer as much as possible. You might not always get it at the location you want, but getting dates is not difficult. You'll see many open up 1-2 days before the exam, so it is best to be prepared at all times to give the exam.

Thank you very much wolverine.... Unfortunately my problem is that I am in Europe so it's not gonna be easy to arrange a trip to US in 15 days.... Any way that's what I am gonna do: I will start studying as if I was scheduled for first week of november and if a spot opens in time I will try to arrange the trip hoping to be lucky....

Hi all,
When I scheduled my CS test,I got a date 2 months away from my desired date.
I sat in front of the computer for 4days with small breaks ,with the scheduling page open and refreshing it every 5-10 mins. and finally got the date I wanted.
Please don t depend on the email notifications ,they reach you after the dates are gone.
People usually exchange dates at a specific time .I noticed a pattern .2 dates would be given up and taken up again within seconds, usually early in the morning .
So try to catch them when they are exchanging dates ( I know thats mean  ,but exchanging dates is not fair either)
