Hi everyone, I need help because I am so lost. I have step 1 score,pass cs, took ck last week, paid 75 bucks to eras. I am green card holder...other than this, I have nothing else. if u got era stoekn----then get ur deans letter and lors and trancriptions and submit them NOW----or ASAP_---------then hunt for programs and if u already took ck-ur result will be out by end of sept-then u can a[pply to programs with complete application(u can apply npow as well but in guess complete application wud be more convincing)=get ur things straight and if u find observership in mean while-go ahead-all the best---------

Agree with zoeya, if you move fast you might have everything ready for the moment when you get your ck result and that way you would apply at the end of september which is still and OK time. Go to ECFMG website and cliock on ERAS and then documents and you will see all the list of things you will need. Do deffinitely start doing your thing at your school to get your transcript and you MSPE. Good thing to get an observership but first get all your documents and do as you can to get at least 2 LOR's. Thanks for all the suggestions. Now I have better ideas of what to do. But after checking, I am confused again first: i dont think my school has this kind of thing called MSPE. i read somewhere else, something called deans letter , it is just one paragraph. could this once replace the MSPE?
second: about all the documents from school, are they supposed to send to eras directly from school, or i ask school to send it to me first, then i send them to eras?
third: how to get observaship? I know some doctors here, can i just do observation with them , and then ask them to write me LOR? Or should i contact some hospitals and ask if they offer obervaship??? HOW DOES THIS OBSERVASHIP WORKS???

heh dr dreamer-deans letter serves same purpose as mspe-aslo for transcriptions-if u already graduate-then u try sending ecfmg urself-and 3rd observership-if u know doctors ask them----that if they allow u for observership with them-also do contact hospitals -if they let u do-its great otherwise-doctors office experience wud even matter -and if u cud get LOR from them-plus ur doctors-whom u know-wud guide u-\best of luck buddy-i was able to put my papers together cuz of GLO MD-he was so helpful------maybe his advice wud be useful for u as well--GL-and pray for me as well---------i hav my exam still left-need prayers----------

so , a sinple deans letter will works. that is good to hear
i still need to confirm something about the observaship. so, as long as i know the doctors and they allow me to do the observation, i dont need permission from hospitals, dont need any paper work for permission, or what so ever. just need to follow the doctors....am i correct????

If you do your observership at a private office you just need permission from the doctor with whom you are doing your observership but if you are planning to go with him/her to a hospital setting you might need to get permission from that hospital. Dean's letter and MSPE are different but since they just changed this you might use it instead of an MSPE. Although I would recommend to do what you can to get an MSPE. MSPE is a lenghthy evaluation of your performance throughout medical school. A Dean's letter is basically an LOR from your dean's office so as you can see they are very different. Check the MSPE guidelines at aamc.org so you have a clear idea of what it is. Talk to your medical school, they might be able to help you out, because if they don't do it right now they will have to start doing it at some point and they might as well start with you. Some medical schools ask you to do a draft and they take it from there, so first look at the specifical guidelines for an MSPE and then talk to your med school and if you fill like it is a lost case use the Dean's letter instead although it will not be as complete so I would deffinitely try to get and MSPE. see drdreamer-i told u GLO MD is very helpful-i guess u shud go by wat he is telling u-i just put in wat i knew infact as i told u i collected all my papers with his help-i thought mspe and deans letter meant same-but yeah def i submitted my deans mspe though-for info-anyways-and thanx GLO MD for helping every one --best of luck ----------------

GLO MD, zoeya: thank you so much. you guys are really helpful here another question: I see many graphs in MPSE , looks kinda complicated. should i try to have it in my MPSE too? may be GLO MD will say yes:P
right now, i am trying to get my MPSE , transcript from school ,also trying to get observership. I wonder except these what else should i start to do now? for instance, should i go ahead to finish all the forms filling in USING MYERAS in AAMC??? or i dont need to worry about these untill i get my ck result back which will be the end of this month..... any advice will be appreciated
