I don't know - every program is going to have different criteria. Apply as soon as you can with as complete of an application as you can (there, I said it again....)

hi santosh, my position is exactly as yours;passed step1 and CS but preparing for CK still; i have taken 18th sep and hence the results will be in october; did you find any answer to this Q:did anyone who got scores so late ever matched and is it common ? i am in a great agony over these thoughts that come to my mind about "to apply or not to apply"
please keep me informed of what you decide.

i too have read that in many forum posts and blogs,but the Q is:
-when they see that the score is not yet reported, they will naturally put the application aside waiting for the scores;i am gonna get the score in october, so will the programs consider me at that point of time when they have scanned so many applications????
-so, is it better that i apply(october) late but with full credentials and then call them up??
In any case please anyone tell me if there is a faintest chance for this match for my kind of situations.

hello revdoc - looking at all the responses, it seems like we shud all apply instead of waiting for ECFMG certificate. Bottom line is either ways we're taking chances - i'll go and apply first.

well ,, friends ,,, i am in same position.......... i have done step-1 , step-2 cs and waiting for step-2 ck result ..............and doing observership in mid sep . very confused where should i apply ? after getting step-2 ck result or without it ............
advise me ? really worried

From what I read most programs will require both Step 1 & 2 scores from IMG applicants. Some programs ask for ECFMG certification, but others don't. It will take a few months before you're certified, so I think it's best that you complete your application and submit it along with both steps score to programs while waiting for certification. Some of my friends applied at the end of October when their scores arrived and still had many interviews.

Ok, let me play the "wise-one, been-there-done-that guy" here.
Last year, I was in the same dilemma, with Step 1 and CS under the belt, but CK looming around. I did not apply till October 15th, waiting for my CK results to be declared. To this end, when I did apply, there were quite a few programs which offered me interviews but could not schedule me for one since "all their slots were filled". However, I still managed a total of 12 interviews and ultimately matched.
Hence, the take home message is: APPLY by september end positively! And when you do get ECFMG certified and have your CK scores in hand..send in a friendly and SHORT email to PCs/PDs/Chief Residents/Security Guard at your selected programs about your new status ..and god-willing, you should be fine.
Relax...the ride has just begun...hold on tight..and swing along!

Hi Guys!
I think I have a slighly different situation... I have S1 and CK approved. Need to retake CS... theoretically I could apply? however, it is so freaking hard to schedule CS that it would probably put me on the side pile of applications?
