wat is the diff in alzhiemers demnetia vs vascualr dementia-in vascular demntia is pt aware of defecits-i guess i read it in a chart form in stpe 2 books-i cant recall where

pts w/vascular dementia (multi-infarct) present w/ more acute, step-wise decrease in neuro function. Multiple neuro deficits on exam, along w/ hypertension or old infarcts seen on CT or MRI. Pts has multiple cardiovascular risks.
Pts w/ Alzheimer dementia present with more progressive course; older age
