pts w/vascular dementia (multi-infarct) present w/ more acute, step-wise decrease in neuro function. Multiple neuro deficits on exam, along w/ hypertension or old infarcts seen on CT or MRI. Pts has multiple cardiovascular risks. Pts w/ Alzheimer dementia present with more progressive course; older age

Drtweetie rightt azheimers is chronic dementia.. and vascular demnetia is acute process.
