hi all.
gave my exam on sept 1. i dont know wt to write about it. afte rthe exam i had a feeling that this was the worse experience i ever had.
the exam overal was weired. most of the qs were either from mol biology or genetics n even those that were from biochem where not about simple enzymes or something that u could have figured out. it was all kind of a researcher did this n that n then heh got that. surprizingly the qs were very long. with loong diagrams.
there were four or ive ct. three mri n three aangiograms n i must admit they too seemed difficult. about 10 or 12 qs from histology. gross sections were mostly from neuro,spinal cord and a few sections from heart.
there were a lot of qs with picture or mri or ct or histo slide. my worst area ever is biostats but compared to the difficulty of other subjects i found those qs easy n doable.
when i did step 2 last month i finished it before time n took only two 5 min breaks.
but in this exam i needed a break after every block n even then ii felt so unsure when i started new block. graphs were about 15 n they were easy. i dint get any repeated qs. n this was the first set of qs i would say was hard than uw. im worried about score.
about 30 percent o fteh qs i surely did right. n about 30 i knwo i guessed write but about teh rest ive no IDEA where the hell were they from.

from what i've heard, you've pretty much echoed what everyone else feels on walking out of the center. you have done the best, which i would say is quite a lot, as i've been on your journal.
leave this mle haze behind you for a while, and enjoy with your baby!

I'm with you, doc! My first block made me want to bang my head on my monitor  This seems to be quite common, after reading other exam experiences. I agree, exam was rough. We must wish, hope and pray for the best, it's out of our hands now. Good luck with your score, and also, good luck with maintaining your composure over the next few weeks-studying sure was easier

Yes, cher, it was! Do a block of UWs or Kap q's, score it, go back and revise, get that type of q correct next time...not possible during step 1, you choose maybe right or wrong ans, you can't take it back after time is up, then it haunts you afterward...you go home, look it up on wiki or whatever, and then do your victory dance or worse, sing a death dirge!

thanks guys
u all have been such a great support and help throught my preperation. i could nt have done it alone. im just praying that i pass it. plus i also read some exam experiences n gathered that its a common feeling. may be because it actually is a hard exam.

its so bad. all the qs that i got wrong keep cuming in my mind. im doing my application of residency and at the same time im so unsure of the result. just dont know wt to do........
