i have a failed attempt on step 3 and therefore i am retaking the exam.what should i mention about step 3 in CAF-should i mention about the failed attempt or should i just mention "to take"...please somebody answer.

They will get you transcripts and find out anyways so if you are worried about programs finding out do not...I say that as bad as it sounds if they give you the option to address it as failed you should go ahead and do because that is your current status.

tell the truth ,no use hiding ,the program already has the usmle transcript.
And if they call you for interview your attempt is acceptable that is why they called so relax and hope for the best
