when one starts residency in a particular state, do you have to get state specific requriments for initial medical licensure? ive looked on the fsmb website, and some states only give you 7 years to take all three usmle steps. What happens if you take more than 7 years to complete all three steps? does that mean i can only apply to states that have no minimum on the years to completee all steps? or can i do residency in any state, and when i finish, i can only work in the states that have unlimited years to take all three exams? it is very confusing. and same question with attempts on usmle steps. any help from anyone would be appreciated. thanks.
