Dear All, I know that this issue is being discussed on the forum, but it remains confusing to me, and maybe others... Per kind advice of one of the forum habitants I went to MyERAS account to assign my USMLE CERTIFICATE (to be released yet, but the account has to be created) to the programs... The DOCUMENTS tab offers USMLE transcript (not certificate) with the following description: --- What you need to know about USMLE Transcripts . . The authorization and distribution of your USMLE transcript is a four-step process. You need to: 1. Verify that the correct USMLE ID is in the Profile. 2. Authorize the release of your transcript. 3. Decide whether you want to have it resent automatically when a new score becomes available. 4. Assign your transcript to your programs. (Under the Programs tab) --- But what about the CERTIFICATE all programs want to see from us??? Is transcript and certificate the same document? I guess no, becuse the transcript is about the following (another citation): ...Do you authorize the ECFMG to transmit your USMLE transcript, which will include a complete history of your Step 1, Step 2CK, Step 2CS and Step 3 results at the time your request is processed and, if applicable, the release of your NBME passing Part scores?... Meantime, the Profile page of the MyERAS account asks about USMLE certificate... Can anybody please clarify these issues, and the orders of steps to include everything in the application??? My understanding is that the certificate is issues when Step 1, Step 2CK/CS exams are passed, and Transcript is issued when all the steps including Steps 3 are successfully over.. Thanks a lot to everyone...

By USMLE certificate do you mean the ECFMG certificate? The report on ECFMG certification/ status is automatically sent to the programs you are applying. You don't have to do anything about it. The transcript is released at your request. It is sent individually for each exams. (step 1, 2ck, 2cs, step 3)
