I read this before, may be here or in another forum that both BRS & Kaplan pathology are a summary of Robbin's

Actually, knowledge seeking is like an instinct to me that I can never satisfy or get enough of it. I will do my best to keep learning because this is what I think that makes a good doctor. Read this inspiring quote of Albert Einstein: "Never regard study as a duty, but as the enviable opportunity to learn to know the liberating influence of beauty in the realm of the spirit for your own personal joy and to the profit of the community to which your later work belongs."

I have something to say, now I started to like goljan & enjoy his teaching. I was going to stop listening to his audios until I started hematology which is outstanding. may be it was general pathology that I didn't like, I hope the rest of special pathology will be as good as hematology. I just wanted to be honest as I had alot of things against him before. I still insist that Kaplan pathology book is very good, actually about 85-90% of what Goljan says exists in Kaplan, if only they had a better teacher than John Barone.

I have to admit, now I like Goljan more & more after going through the cardiovascular & respiratory pathology, Thank God I was patient & continued listening to his audios, he clears alot of vague concepts & makes them easy to understand & memorize

GL , glad that finally u will b Golj fan May be I had a strong voice saying the cons of Goljan which r all true but what strong supporters r u talking about? No single person agreed with me about Goljan. I don't think anybody who read my posts will quit Goljan as all the replies are against my opinion. Although I didn't like his general pathology, I had to keep listening to his audios because of what others say: "DON"T SIT FOR STEP 1 WITHOUT GOLJAN AUDIOS & HY", doesn't everybody say that? I forced myself to keep listening which turned out to be fruitful with special pathology. I still have things against him but they r not as much as they were in the beginning, so I'm not a die hard fan for him. I insist that Kaplan pathology book is great, I use it as my main study book & add notes to it from Goljan.

Am not against u or any one when say , give , post , suggestion or comments but just mine or common facts that , we prepper or exm done DOC all did, do, agree, still right things to do for the exm . U will surprise that me & only the other in this forum, if count u in all 3 only do like kap path & recommand it b4 golj . But still u have to do u ahve to do like this st 1 exm for all grad is not necessary especially with now adays molecular level or detail anatomy that not common or important one like origin, insertion etc which sh b in general surgery board exm or for med students, but bootom line is the exm are same for students or grds , so no such a Qs as Applied Sc , not too detail in basic qs since will not b fair to the students . U do not ahve to insist me as kap path is best , but I will say is good to start then add golj, but u can open new thread to let all know do not jump onto golj unless u just read big Robin or out of med basic Sc yr . Die hard fan for golj or not , ur voice wil , can change near exm after have all his lectures done , since u already said u like him after u did not at all , that's good , means u get it, after good foundation of path by kap . re ; Dr.J . Barone & Dr. E. Goljan , they are apple & orange, so not comparable, both are really best good teacher but teach patho in different approach , the later tell more than , alot more than patho , that's all . As personal, I am also Dr. Barone fan , his teaching is excellent as patho persae. If u get chance go at least for 1 day free at kap center to watch his 2007 latest dvd , but even better if 1 day or whole course live & u will fall in love with his teaching much alive like Dr. C.F , Int med in his live , they all are including Dr. L.R phrama, old biochem teacher . Though the most alive is Dr. C.F , Int med , then may b dr. E. Goljan . GL

GL I never take it as an offense when sombody disagrees with me, this is the purpose of this forum, it gives everybody the chance to say his/her opinion about different things regarding the exam, otherwise it would be useless. I'm not trying to convince anybody about Kaplan pathology book as I already know that it is the kaplan's only hated & neglected book, I found it very useful to me & just wanted to say that. I didn't like John Barone's teaching at all, at least the 2003 videos which I have, don't know about the 2007 ones. GL to u & everyone in this forum salam
