Hello everyone,
I was reading about NY prog at scutwork.com and some prog had really bad reviews but they were 3-4 yr old postings.
If anyone knows about the following programs from friends doing residency or other sources, it would be a grt help for me to decide finally which ones to go for, as the reviews for some really scared me.
1. Nassau Univ Prog
2.Mount Sinai SOM Elmhurst Prog
3.NY Med College Metrohealth prog
4.Interfaith Med Ctr Prog
5.Brooklyn Hospital Ctr
6.Mount Sinai Queens Hospital Ctr Prog
Appreciate any help for the input.

hi arizona,
As i hear from friends, Some of them are "BAD" but we the "IMG"S" face a unique problem.
Some programs are just way too good for us to even apply.
Then come the GOOD ones, where we can apply and even get accepted if we are above average, exceptional candidate, but then we run the risk of being odd man out of that program which i hear can be unbearable sometimes.
On third place we have programs, which has 30-50%IMG's, sometimes these programs can be good programs, some are not so good.
Last are programs, with 90% IMG's crappy areas, bad to no teaching....these arent the places you would wanna go f you are thinking aboput a fellowship.
Bottom line, we dont have a choice. I can only speak for myself but if i have to choose between a crappy residency vs no residency at all...i will take the crappy one and build on that!

if we do residency over that place there is no teaching do have chances of doing fellowship?

I know it seems like IMG's cannot be choosers esp people like me who graduated long back. Anyways will wait for the big day when I can get to know what is in store.....
Yes biggy there are no reviews for Mt Sinai Queens and I wanted some input if someone knew abt the prog.
