I'm volunteering as a research coordinator for a small clinical research. The research director whom I'm working with promised me to add my name as a co-author on the manuscript that will be published early 2008. Also, he asked me to coordinate an industry project that will start next month. This will be a paid job.

I’m planning to submit my residency application on September 1st, therefore I can’t change it after that.

I have already mentioned this in my personal statement and he also mentioned it in his letter of recommendation.

My question is, can/should I put this information (that the manuscript that I will be a co-author will be published early 2008 and I will be working as a research coordinator for his next project) in another section of my CAF such as “Other Awards/Accomplishments”.

Thanks

Again - that's a side of ERAS that I can't see. Find the best place for it and mention it there.

actually you can mention it in the publications put a future date. The pD would know its a work in progress.

Or list that paper as (in preparation) or (submitted to ...journal). When you write you CV, people usually do this way. Wonder whether it works for program application.smiling face

ACTUALLY i don't think iuts a good idea, because what will you enter in PMID, Volume and issue no. sections?
i agree with bbb, its best to mention it in personal statement or somewhere else, if the publication is pending....i will do the same

Thank you all for your responces.

I have already mentioned it in my personal statement. But I was hoping that I could add that somewhere in my CAF. Because as you know, PDs and PCs don't spend too much time reading all of our statements and if I put that information somewhere in my CAF, there is more chance they see it. Specially that this will be my first publication.

I agree with ssrpk that I can't add that to the publication section.

The only section I found that I may be able to enter this kind of infornation is under "Other Awards/Accomplishments" in Misc. tab. Does anyone think that this will be a good spot for this kind of info?

Thanks again and good luck to all of you.
