I made the serious mistake of not getting on my college's case regarding the verification of my medical degree. The verification request was only sent once by ECFMG and my college got the verification wrong. I didn't follow up on it and the matter stayed pending until recently.
Long story short: ECFMG recieved the verification a few days ago. Today on my OASIS website, under the Medical Education Credentials and Standard ECFMG Certificate, it says :
Status: Medical education credentials received and verification is pending
Right underneath that is:
Document Sent for Verification FORM 327-A
Original 06 Aug 2007
Sent Date
Most Recent
Resent Date
Verification
Received Date 27 Aug 2007
The date of 27 Aug 2007 came up only today. Before today, this space was blank. So does that mean my verification is complete and I can be certified? If not, how long will it take ECFMG to verify my credentials? I've passed all the exams. The only thing preventing ECFMG certification is my credentials verification. A couple of people told me it takes upto 1 month to verify the credentials, which made my heart sink. Because a lack of an ECFMG certification will hurt my application. Any insight will be appreciated. I'm considering delaying my application beyond 1st of Sept to prevent my application from being hurt from this lack of certification,

Hi. You have to look at your status. When its verified it'll read :
Status: Medical education credentials received and verified.
My verification was pending for several months b/c my school didn't send my transcript with my diploma. My transcript was finally sent 2 wks ago and when I checked oasis today my status had changed from "pending" to verified. So if they have all your documents I don't think it takes that long.

if you have all yur scores, and the verification proces is pending, then its better not to delay your application, because ecfmg will send the verification status as soon as it is updated, besides, if you have all ur scores with u, then its only a minor technical delay, which shouldn't be a big issue.

Right now it says: Status: Medical education credentials received and verification is pending. ECFMG has my degree verification as well as the transcripts, so it is only a matter of processing time.
@ssrpk: Yeah, I was thinking whether I should delay the application or not. I tend to agree with you also. I'm also thinking I could put my ECFMG Certification Status in my CV/Resume, where I make it clear that verification is pending routine processing (as opposed to pending USMLE Scores). I haven't done my HJ so wouldn't put anything in there about that.

yes azygous, same concern here, how to detail it...i guess i will write about the morningh rotations and opd and or etct etc....
and drpak, ur ecfmg certification will be uploaded all by itself alng with ur application to various programs.

Hi jazmil,
My college also missed the transcript during the initial verification. After that my college have sent the missing Transcript on Aug 10th. But my credential verification still shows as Pending.
Can you please tell me , on what date did you send your transcript to ECFMG and how long it took to get verified.

isnt this house job the same as the compulsory internship that is required to be completed before getting the graduation degree? or is it done after graduation?

The ECFMG needs 6-8 weeks after receiving the diploma from your med school to verify it. That said, if they received it on Aug 27, count 6-8 weeks from there. It is horrible, but I went trough the same hell. Good luck

Actually they do not take 6-8 weeks after they recieve the documents from your college. Generally you can expect to be verified in 10-15 business days from now.

i agree with holyman, my credentials were received by enfmg on 9th august and my ecfmg certificate was isued on 27th august.
