Hi, everyone, I'm an IMG planning to take part in the 2008 residency Match. My specialty in my home country is Urology, so although I know there isn't much chance, I still want to try Urology in the match. I registered on AUA and was issued a AUA number for the match. Here comes the question: when i was filling application forms on the ERAS, i found that my AUA number will be seen by all the program directors. Is it possible that other program directors (such as internal medicine, family practice, ect.) will NOT seriously consider my application when they think I'm also applying for Urology? Should I give up Urology to keep myself safe in the applications of more practical specialties? I'm looking forward to hearing your advices on this problem. Thank you very much!
