A physician tells an elderly woman that there is scientific evidence that estrogen-progesterone replacement therapy will decrease all of the following except:

1.progression of bone loss
2.incidence of UTI
3.incidence of myocardial infarctions
4.vaginal dryness
5.vasomotor symptoms


plz explain ur answer

2 INCIDENCE OF UTI

E-P theray--helps in osteoporosis, prevent CAD risk, eastrogen fr vaginal dryness, vasomotor.-hotflushes.

No link b/w UTI and estrogen-progesterone .

3.incidence of myocardial infarctions

It was shown that risk of heart disease and stroke increases with the use of HRT in postmenopause... Do not put together, guys, role of HRT and estrogens alone...

At the same time, HRT helps treat incontinence in elderly that is due to weakness on urethral sphincter... This is a link to UTI

ya JUSTICE u r rite...even i picked UTI when i did it coz kaplan and UW say HRT it decreases CAD..

eastrogen alone is good for coronary heart ds,

HRT is bad for heart--cause MI
