How can I differentiate between Congenital cataracts and retinoblastoma? Thanks~

Well, only in case of bilateral white reflex, its Cataract as its very unlikely for retinoblastma to be bilateral, as for unilateral, its retinoblastma untill proven otherwise

i guess detailed family history and mothers OB history wud help ... any infections during pregnancy varicella , rubella ... . family history of any genetic disorders in family ( galactosemia) ....

The MOST COMMON cause for the white reflex is Cataract while THE MOST DREADED one is Retinoblastoma.

RULE::::if there is white replex present first thing is to check for retinoblastoma most dreaded thing to rule out...and then cataract comes.

Ok. If the Qs doesn't say about Hx, should I have to stick with "cataract" because it is most common one. And I'll answer "Retinoblastoma" ..... When? Retinoblastoma 25% is bilateral. ... I don't get it yet. Could you explain it a little more, pls.
