well i went to the prometric site n' i found out that i can't take a watch inside!! now i'm in a panic coz ive been practicing full length exams at home n' timed my breaks w/ my watch....

i heard that the screen (or program) or whatever the term is....for the real exam looks like the UWorld screen....so is that the only timer we see?

can anyone help w/ how i shud time myself when i'm at the test center?

USE THE CD USMLE GIVES U the best predictor and user frinedly and gives u a very good idea abt the real exm screen and yes the screen is similar to UW.

Atleast from wht i have been told if u practice urself couple of times on tht CD it gives u enuf practice of the real exm and u feel at home abt it. and From Wht i have been told that the Questions in the CD do tend to pop up during the exm.

Don't worry. The screen shows you the time all along. You won't lose track.smiling face

i think she's talking about timing her breaks without her watch. the clock on the screen will not be running between blocks, will it?

Maybe we can leave our watch in the locker, to time at least the lunch brake. I'm sure the center would have a clock on the wall, like every public facility. And on the end most of us know how much time we need for the bathroom. grin

If U r Talking abt the Time Situation. Not thats not the Only Clock u will see. I have seen my Centre and there is a Watch when We enter the Exm Room where the Lockers r placed. so u can co-ordinate with that and other thing wud be to keep the watch in the locker. 2ndly the Timer on exm will tell u how much time u have left for breaks. thats How they show in the CD. Now the time from Table to the Locker is 10 sec and there u can have ur watch with u to co ordinate the rest of the break.

thanx for the info guys, yeah sorry, i meant timin my breaks inbtwn the blocks...i completely forgot bout the mle CD!!! aaahh....i gotta go do that now...2 mo days n' there's so much to do!!

this is what i did.... i kept a tally of how many extra minutes for each block... and then subtracted when i came in... i wrote it on the plastic boards.

there is a clock on the screen too that also shows it with the exam length... and there is a cumulative break time as well on the screen...

other option, get a regular old analog watch... that's ok....
