Thanks everybody for support except rocking...
I am not making up a story and what I wrote is real. I feel comfortable writing to this forum and get your feedback because as you kknow it is very personal thing and I do not want ti reveal my name or program. The 3rd year resident who was supporting the abusive attending had exactly same attitude like dr.rocking..., many people in residency programs are stepping on your rights as a human being with the argument"you have to accept everything here, do you know how difficult it is to get a spot, and do you know how many "smart" people did not get a spot? so shut up and close your eyes. Specialy I noticed more arrogance from my male colleages.
The thought of returning back is crossing my mind everyday, but I will not, I am here to be trained, and I will not respond to the wishes of arrogant people like doctor rocking....
I went to see my PD, but did not have the courage to pronounce it as it. I just complained of him being unprofessional and treating me differently just because I am a female. He wanted to know the details and if it is necessary to talk to him and I refused any further steps. It is over and my PD is aware.
All what is left is a bitter taste in my heart about arrogant red indians that I think will stay forever.
I was shocked by this culture and I made my PD(who is a very pleasant person from Asia) aware of it.
The only problem that I have now is the rest of this academic year and how to behave. I do not want to greet these 2 persons when I see them(the evil attending and the 3rd year) after all that they did to me covering each other just in case, but what about the situations where you get invited to drug presentations and noon conferences? Just ignore them or a big smile?
Believe it or not, I just hate the place where I work, and I think that is what they were aiming"We will let her hate this hospital and medicine all together", I used to be very enthusiastic person about medicine, but now I feel like "what for"? Why did I sucrifice all these years? To work with people like this?
I spoke to a person in my current rotation who happened to be from the same country as my previous attending and his companion, she reported that 99% of docs in her country who work in government hospitals have such an attitude, and I just had a very bad luck to be in that team.
I have to study for step 3 but I am so down.

Dear studyfors3,
Glad you had the courage to speak with your PD..., I still think the details are important since that´s the whole point about talking to him/her..., I suggest if the opportunity comes up do it (read closely, everyone here it´s suggesting this, bbb who is a PC is making a remark on this, she knows very well what she is talking about, take into serious consideration this)...
Sadly, that´s how reality is in some places..., I´m an IMG, and in the city I live, things are exactly like that..., I try to stay away from this enviorment...., it´s very difficult to resist this endoculturation..., hold on to your convictions and ideals, this will pass..., hope things get better soon...

u can't reveal the name of the program as u r not a real person, u r just trying to "stir" this forum up, so stop abusing me, and if there is an iota of truth in ur posts here, then prove what u said, no PD will be a foolish enough to risk his own and the program's reputation, that too for a middle aged married european immigrant, I dare u to come out with some hard facts here, other wise if u want sensational stories, I can make up better stuff

We are glad to know that you have talked to the pd. You have played your part and lets see how things go from here. However if you think everyone is conspiring against you so that you hate medicine and all, then its probably wrong.

Asking her to reveal her and her program's identity is asking way too much. No one is expected to, or should be asked to reveal his/her identity to get support or information from a forum. That is whole point of online forums. Yes, none of us know her personally, but do you?

Dude Watch It. U r treading on a Very Bold Line of being Disrespectful to a person and moresoever she is a lady. Whether she is a fake or notU shud Learn how to talk to them. I doubt tht u have had that sort of Upbringing where it is taught to talk Respfectfully to a Woman even if she is of ill-repute.
U have every right to disagree with this poster and it ur right to express that opinion as long as it remains in the boundaries of decency. If u cross it then surely u will not be welcomed over here. So consider urself being Forewarned on tht point.
As far as ur comments go i think u too have been a target of some Sexual harassment and in ur case i believe u were being accused of the charge. Fair Or Not Probably the Accuser seem to have to won the case against u. Havent u Seen All the Posts Mentioned only one fact to the Poster THAT INFORM UR PD ABT UR SITUATION. Did any of the Senior Members went into this person legitmacy instead they expressed an opinion and sort of a Guideline for the Rest of us to follow in such situations.
Whether this poster is legit or not, that is definitely not ur problem. She asked for Advice ppl concerned and experienced responded to her and made sort of a guideline for such scenarios. This is a Land Of Immigrants and almost everyone here is an Immigrant. If u by any chance were born here that doesnt make u superior than the rest of us.
In Future Restrict Ur Comments & opinions. Wrap the comment with decency. Otherwise U do know wht will happen.............

might be i'm wrong but
i think that if you will tell to that person that you have sneaky suspicious
supported by certain facts that he is harrasing you,
he will be more careful about his behavior.
Being in that position that he has at this time - it took him whatever years, energy and money, and i don't think that one will be risking his carrier just or fun.

rockin'...dude whats your prob?this lady asked for advice for a tough situation that she is in...you cant help her for sure with any kind of advice so just leave this post buddy.there is no need to speak words like that.you are crossing your line here.you are not been of any help here and also to anyone who might be in a similar situation like this lady.i am not concerned if she is saying the truth but this can happen to someone and maybe she/he can take some tips out of this post. so why dont you just leave this post alone and not try and prove if this is legitimate or not.well if you were in a soup i am sure you would not reveal your identity too so dont try that game here.
and i was just wondering...nnl made a point there...if this fellow was involved in some kinda prob before...what kind of defence mechanism is this?? displacement?

Sarika, drashima - it's easy to ignore, just go to your options when you log in, buddy and ignore list. Everyone has a right to what they want to write. But you don't have to read it. Just paste his name in the ignore list - viola! No more messages from him.
It's a lifesaver. I love my ignore list. Slightly less than my buddy list.
