Hi,

I am New to the forum - so pardon me if this has been dealt before.

Can anyone suggest an algorythem to tackle clotting factor questions - like when does PT, PPT, TT all high means the prolem is here. if only PT is high - the problem is here ... like that

  #2

pt ,appt high means promlem with both internsic and extrensic pathway
only pt is high then extinsic
only aptt is high intrinsic

I agree. Some HY ones to know are:

Hemophilia A - inc PTT
Von Willenbrand disease = inc PTT, inc BT (bleeding time)
HUS = dec platelets, inc BT
warfarin OD = inc PT, inc PTT
Vit K def = inc BT

Please correct if I'm off, and add to the list smiling face
