UW is good as a study tool, so I would recommend that. UW questions are more challenging compared to Kaplan Q bank. To me, I think NBME is optional, as an assessment of your weak areas so that you could improve or you could approximate where you stand along the curve. There are no correct answers for NBME questions, hence you have to discuss with other people or post your questions in this forum for discussion. Hope that helps...

go for UW. but as a study tool. DO IT TIMED. DO iT RANDOM. that's what is most important.
TIME, not knowledge, is the ultimate hurdle in step 2 CK. take my word for it.
you will see many posts that say, oh, i had time enough. but that's not going to happen to everyone. more likely you will have just enough time. so practice.
the questions are actually simple if you can think them out. the same question, on another day, or maybe even that day in the first block you would be able to think out, but not when it comes to you in the penultimate block of the test. that was my experience.

in my case, NMBE was predictable in both step1 and CK.
for CK, my score was somewhere between forms 2 and 3; form 3 is the most difficult. so i took both, thinking that form 3 score would be the worst scenario..
but then the real test was a challange. more difficult than UW for sure, yet i still think it was closer to the nbme format. even though, walking out the exam, i was quite confused about my performance thinking that it would be interesting to know what journals they use to come up with the questions, i tried to remain sane because the NBMEs are supposed to be somewhat predictable, since theyre scored the same, by comparison to other test-takers
anyway, good luck and study hard
