Hi guys, please give me a hand here: I was almost sure that I would be able to send my application out on Sep 1st, but two letters of recommendation won't be uploaded on time. Everything else is in Eras, including ECFMG certification, PS, and maybe 1 single letter from my "boss" in the hospital where I am doing an observership will be there. CAN I STILL APPLY ON THE 1ST? WOULD THE PROGRAMS LOOK AT MY APPLICATION AND WAIT FOR THE LETTERS? PLEASE, GIVE ME YOUR INPUT

hi cristina usually programs have a requiremnet of 3 LORs. Dont you some backup LORs from your country? If yes then send them now....so that your application is complete later on when you get the other Letters send them too. At that time, you can send an email to all the programs you applied updating that you have a new LOR uploaded. I think apply as early as possible.

Thanks for answering Sarika. The letters from my country are the ones setting me back. I hope to get that matter resolved today and have them Fedex tonight, but even in that ideal scenario they would be uploaded in about 4 weeks. I am trying to come to terms with the fact that I will apply in mid-september but it just sucks.

According to the ECFMG website the time to upload documents at the moment is 5-7 business days. So you should be fine.

Well the program that wishes to consider your application does so maybe just once. So even if ERAS is updated with your letter after 7 days, if the program has downloaded your application already earlier as a 'packet' it is really up to them as to whether they want to download again. We don't know what their part of ERAS looks like.So you are always safe mailing the program director yourself about the LOR once you get it.

I have decided to play it safe and wait for the letters, they will be in Fedex tonight (finally!) and I guess by sep-15th or so I will be ready to apply and will still be early enough. Thank you guys for easing my troubled mind.
