Hi, I am working as a research associate at a university hospital and so I got an opportunity to have 'hands on' clinical experience under my PI for about 6 months. I just came to know that he had mentioned the clinical experience as CLERKSHIP in the LOR. since I had waived to see the letter I didnt know abt this when he sent the letter 2 weeks back. so is it okay to mention it as CLERKSHIP in my application since clerkship is only for medical students and not for graduates? Secondly I am applying to IM but my clinical experience is in neurology. Does it fulfil the criteria of USCE for most IM programs? I was independently taking histories , examining and documenting the findings and had access to all the patients records. Thanks a lot

Mention the experience. It doesn't matter if it's under clerkship, volunteer or work - just mention it. As for USCE - I can't answer that question.
