atticus wrote: Hi, I have been silently following the forum for a long time.. I would like to get you peoples opinions regarding my chances of getting a residency. FMG. Graduated in 2001, step 1-97, step 2-99, step 2cs passed step 3- 80. No USCE(Infact no clinical exprience at all since 2002) No US LORS,.No need for visa. Applied for 2007 match, but unfortunately didn't match. So going to apply for Int med and ob-gyn mainly.. Thanks, no offense atticus, but I dont think that someone has a right answer for your question..

hi atticus, I think to understand your chances you will have to think why u failed to match the last time. Was it because you did not apply to enough # of programs, applied to too competitive programs e.g all university or was it because you did not perform well during IV's. With scores like that, you will match. You just have to apply wisely and WIdely. Also what did u do since the last match....did u try to get any USCE? Any change in ur CV since then. All these factors can play a role but you are fortunate all this can be changed unlike people who have attempts or low scores and unfortunately they cant change that.

Thanks a lot every one.. I am not sure what went wrong first time. May be it's a combination of every thing.. I needed visa then.. Applied in the middle of October and applied to many university programs too.. And on top of evry thing no USCE and no US Lors.. Any way I am trying to get some clinical experience.. And hope that everything will turn out fine.

hi atticus been thru the same thing. best thing would be to apply widely. once you get interviews then decide which ones you actually want to go. Try to get some kind of USCE. it helps to fill in 1 yr in your cv.
