patient presents with -fever,night sweats,cough,weight loss,and on chest Xray-apical infiltrate. whts the next step of managemnet?

Xray
AFB stain
PPD
CT
Anti-tubercle therapy.

What kind of question is this my friend ? When you mention that he has acute TB, why do you need any more Ix to confirm your diagnosis, just treat him.

next step is AFB stain gringringrin to see if positive AFB stain go for antibacterial therapy. if AFB negative--give INH prophylaxix fr 9 months.

but then on what grounds did you diagnose acute TB or that was a typing error ?

i meant to say the presentation was like TB...symtoms of TB.. not diagnosed yet.. sorry for the mistake.
