Vancomycin resistence is involves its Binding sites esp the D-Ala-D-Ala. this sequence is changed and terminal D-Ala is replaced by D-Lactate( D-Lac). This is the major cause of resistence to Vancomycin showm by VRE & VRSA ( Vancomysin Resistant Enterococci & Staph Aureus)
