ihi,
if i pass all usmle steps say within 3-years, then is it possible to start residency say after 7-year eligibility period?Does one have to start residency within 7-year eligibility period of ECFMG? or 7-year period is just for passing all usmle steps N getting ECFMG certified.

thanks

i dont know the answer to your q:
here are 2 real casessad again full background not known) which shows how it varies case by case
a guy finished his IM residency and was made to repeat step 1 in order to qualify for licensure
another friend completed her step1,2,3 in 1984-85 and started residency in 2003

best bet: call ECFMG
