Hello,

Tomorrow I'm supposed to start virology. Since I've almost thru medschool already I know most of the clinical stuff I think I'll have to know. But, then I start looking at things as "ss, ds, positive polarity, circular genome, envelope etc etc. SO BORING! I've never used such crap in the clinic so far.

Should I try to learn this at all for step1? Anyone have a clue about how/if questions are asked about this? I study outside the US som I dont really know what you guys know or are supposed to know about this.

Comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Yes you really need to know this. come up with mneumonics and you'll be fine. look at the FA it has nice classifications for both micro and viro
