Is it true that :
MVP Asymptomatic doesn't need antibiotic prophylaxis before any surgical procedure( including dental procedure) , but AS asymptomatic always need prophylaxis?

Pls confirm it , I want to be sure about what I read.

yes ,you do prophilaxis in patiente with 1 riesk factor + 1 procedure

RIESK FACTORsticking out tonguerosthetic valvule,cyanotic congenital disease, previous endocarditis,marphan,MPV with regurgitation mitral,valvular disease,hypertrophic miocardiophaty,congenital acyanotic disease,a-v fistule,indwelling rigth heart and pulmonar catheterism.


PROCEDURE:dental(root canal,tooth extraction, cleaning
respiratory(rigid bronchoscopy,adeneidectomy,tonsillectomy surgical that involvement mucosa)
gi(schlerotherapy for varices,esphageal dilatation,ERCP,gallblader surgical,intestinal surgical,)
genito urinary(cistoscopy prostate surgical,urethral dilatation,delivery vaginal with infection)

Drugs and procedures for endocarditis prophylaxis use
Dental/Respiratory procedures : Amoxicillin
if penicilline allergic: clarithromycin, clindamycin, cefazolin
GU/GI procedure: ampicillin+gentamicin
if penicilline allergic: vancomycin +gentamicin.
