I have a friend in a peculiar situation. He was an active member on P4U last year.Fantastic scores, residency in India,needs visa, no USCE apart from obship 3 weeks at a program that ranked him.But unfortunately he went unmatched...real shame! Great guy.Got 2 prematches...but fancied his chances at the obship program. Didnt work out.Besides applied real late.And mostly Uni places.
This year he goes to a smallish place to do obship. The people there like him very much and give him a prematch right away.Even before he has applied through ERAS. He is once bitten twice shy.Am trying to convince him to apply this year. If he applies on time I am sure he gets into a good place. Has 2 obships now, 2 USLORs.
But I don't know frankly what I would have done differently.Suggestions anyone?

That is a tough one... I don't know quite frankly what I would do if I were him. I think this is a very personal decision. But if he felt right and happy in the small place he might consider going for it, if he does not fill complete then why do it? it totally depends on how he fills.
