I will be applying for categ im and neuro for which i need prelim IM. Some programs offer both. How will i then explain my position as to why i am applying to both prelim and categ IM.....Is it like appearing non serious for one specialty?

i wanted to share with some-one if possible IM lists from residency place or img prep..

what made me think was..we spent so much money on exam/application/interview..it is better to have some direction for applying

is there a separate list you are referring to to choose prelim progs? coz i noticed there are less than 20 prelim programs(excluding CA) on the aamc IM list.
i was considering applying to a few neuro programs as well, mainly because i happen to have some good neuro lors. Can any of you suggest some IMGfriendly integrated programs?

lol..i realised there are more number of prelim prog...which is why i was asking which list are you people referring to to do your research on that.

Since i was not planning on prelim programs(before now), i was only referring to the eras IM list and had noticed less than 20 prelim programs on that.

azygous the problem is img prep will give customized list which i dont think will work.

residency place seems to be good but charging $95/specialty.

Just found another site residencymatching...seems to be good but costs only $20...now i am wondering if its accurate...why sucha huge price difference!

ok for you to persue a career in neurology, you have to do prelim medicine year PGY1 because neurology starts at PGY2 just like radiology, dermatology. So we are applying to both prelim med PGY1 starting in 2008 and neurology PGY2-4 starting from 2009.
Hope it helps.
