Hello everyone, I plan to clear the Step II CSA and CK exam before the Sep. 2008. Thus, I can participate MATCH 2009. My question is which one I should take first? Thanks,

sos2007,for CS hardly u need 2-3 wks preparation and u'll get results after 6-8 wks of taking the exam.for CK it takes more time for preparation(ofcourse it depends on your study methods)and u'll get results in 3-4 wks.so,u can 1)either take CS first and while waiting for results, prepare for CK. 2)or while preparing for CK ,u can take a 3 wks gap and take CS. hope this helps.good luck

Thank you, bhanusupriya. As my understanding, it is reasonable to take CS first. But, I am afraid that I will be distracted from the CK preparation by 6-8 wks of the pending CS result.

SOS2007, if you are a person like me who is easily distracted, I would suggest you to go with CK first, or else you will easily lose a lot of study time in those 6 to 8 weeks of waiting period. But if you are very strong and descipline yourself very well, go with CS first. Just my two cents.GL

thanks, izn and njcjzy. The reason why I asked this question was the experience from taking the Step I. Although I felt that I might pass on the end of the exam, I could not be focus on studying again until I got the paper score report. It looked like I am a easily distrated person? Right now, I am working on both ck and cs. Haven't decided to take which one first. I know I am the person to solve the puzzle. However, I would like to hear more opinions.

If I want to appear for 2009 match but with step 3, can somebody tell me how and when should I take CK, CS and Step 3? I am planning for CK in Dec/Jan.

I heard a lot of theories about this. Mine is that because CK is much tougher and long I would do it first and then study cs while waiting for ck results. I would have been distracted by the anxious waiting and would not be able to concentrate if I was doing cs first. Just be careful to something: if you plan to do cs BOOK IT IN LARGE ADVANCE. There are very few spots and you need to book it at least 5 mo earlier
