hi budds when i started preparing i had many queries which i am trying to answer for you 1) 14 weeks of whole hearted preperation is a must. 2)try doing all the cases in u/w and 1st aid...do them as many times as u can,,,you will be surprised that almost 90% cases will be out of these two things, and in the exam you will feel as if its also a rehersal 3) having a person who is taking an exam at the same time or almost similar time is the best bet,,,,,,,,,,it reallly really jelps a lot if this is not possible search for some one galfren boy fren , spouse or any fren or anybody who can take this as seriously as you are 4) for all img's a good thing i can suggest if you are not comfortable with the language is that , try coming to us of a a few days ( ideally two weeks beforehand) and try conversing with local people, it may be of immense benefit, and if u have a feeling that english is a major problem , my suggestion is that please join an observership,,,it polishes you in almost less than a month 5) some people suggest watching english movies,,,,STRONGLY DISAGREE,,they cant help in knowing conversations of normal people who are gonna come as sp's my experience was really terrifying, was bundled out in the very first case , i did not drape properly, confused "pamhugsfoss" , ans what not but even if one case goes wrong , DONT PANIC ,,,its not over till its all over, always wear a big smile and treat and talk to the sp as you would do to ur brother or sister, and believe me it wont be that difficult... and please plese DO NOT try to be overfriendly, always maintain the professional distance even if u are cracking a joke in my case i was an img , lost my baggage in transit , and reached philadelphia without a lab coat or a steth. but the people there were really really nice , they make you feel at home . SO IF SOMEBODY IS HAVING AN EXAM COMING AND IS WORRIED ABOUT THE LABCOAT AND STETH.PLEASE KEP THOSE WORRIES ASIDE You should always carry a mouthwsh or a mint thing with you( esp imgs from india,,,im an indian and i guess we may take this thing lightly) be professionally dressed, dont try ,,,a blue shirt/ white shirt witha dood trousers is the best bet for female img's...dress is always a cause of concern,,,what i ca suggest is , a fromal suit with slacks should be the best thing, try avoiding a suit or a saree or any other dress which may be normal in our countries of origin. that is all that comes to my mind will keep u posted if there is any other specific question or query...please feel free to ask all the best be urself and you will have no trouble

one more thing that i wanted to say was reach the center an hour before scheduled people usually are there and seeing so many people who are going to go through the drill will calm down you a lot

doc 081 the only remedy i can suggest for this is go all out and find an observership besides looking very good in ur c.v it will make you learn how the day to day american talks are like. and ny is a place where you can find it if you try really hard.

i dont want to horrify you. or lower your morale but a friend of mine , he speaks very fluently , has been an orator and still missed , it the exam standard has been drastically raised, so my take would be . 30 honest days , should be given if you ask one thing that will make the difference , I suggest PRACTICE .............and more practice dont worry too much about what cases, and U/W is ok. but if finances are not an issue , you should subscribe to it, otherwise it wont make much of a difference. what makes the diff is having a serious study partner. tc best "P"
