You are doing well Mydream, keep up the efforts! Your scores on your USMLE CD, and one block of NBME shows you are ready, but I am sure if you put more effort these 2 weeks you can scratch off more points and get a higher score!!! So hang in there and WORK HARD!!  You are ALMOST THERE....and don't waste time on the forum, come only if you need a breather, and time your break

hi, mydream! looks like you're pcking up speed!! that's wonderful, pace yourself so you cross the finish line. but you seem to be doing great. keep it up, pal!!
i haven't done the usmle cd yet, but i know that it does not have explanations. [when they say with/without answers, it means they give you just the correct letter, not the entire reasons for that. now i don't know if you joined the official kaplan classes for your prep, but they have released entire answers, complete with explanations. so, if you're interested, you could try for them. just a suggestion.]
also, don't leave nbme, thinking you have no time, you ALWAYS must MAKE time for nbme. don't forget, it is far more similar to the real deal, coz it's one of the 2 OFFICIAL qn sources from nbme [the other one is the cd] don't do one block and leave the other 3. try and find/make time to do ALL 4 forms, ALL 4 blocks. it really helps!
also, try and save time from the forum. come on if you need to. if you need any help/just a pep talk, do pm me.

Hi it is from kaplan web site , explaination, but Qs will b in ur st 1 CD they sent or dl from www.usmle.org , I never success in dl Qs though .
Might b same as GG's post umless usmle Cd is changing .
Was dl from kap to lin k for here then web clitch , so found that GG post too, by time I try to post , no one post yet . Any how , no harm dl both to see, chances are will b the same .
Thanks GG , am not sure have the one u post so, might dl that for self too .
But how where to get Qs, GG pl pm me tmr re Qs , since dl fr usmle did not work, never work for me since they are borned.

i returned an hour back and saw the thread. thanks a lot for all the wishes.
at this moment i am feeling....no....not feeling anything.  ....the questions were a mix.....some very tough as always..some weird....some so confusing....and some so easy that i had to read the stem again whthr its smthing else. well....i cant say which bolck was hard or which ws easy....first one was ok....bt after 3 bloks....i cudnt keep a track of how is it happening. overall it was patho....but yeah...lots of physio as well....i cudnt gv much time to that subj.....thr were some basic qs....whch needed reading in depth. dont know really how i did on those. and abt time......i finished the first blk 10 mins before..then thought i might go a bit slow......and that ws it.....cudnt finish earlier in any more blks. 6th was very tough....and i cudnt mark 2 qs....i had left those for later as the stem ws long....bt cudnt come back. and also i had to hurry for last 4/5 qs. and in the last blk also....had to just mark last 2/3 without reading propely ..
i got few repeats....like got 2 qs in diff manner..asking for same anser..fibrillin. then also repeat in galactosemia. a lot of CT and graphs. got few histo .... not sure of 2/3.....the stem didnt reveal much. other micro slides were ok i guess.
yeah..a few qs from embryo....bt not the high yield ones....bt dont worry regarding those.. quite a few physician pt relationship qs. and lots of graphs from pharma and physio.
bt as i said..there were very simple qs also. so overall....yes doable....definitely one can take it confidently after a satisfactory revision.
qs were UW pattern with many two liners as well. cant think of anything else now. May God help me.

yes KG....i did get a lot of graphs and drawings...from agonist antagonist concept...one from murmur..one from sensitivity specificity which is thr in the kap BS bk....lineweaver burk graph twice asking whthr the enzyme conc was doubled/halved/same..like that.
lots of cts..mainly neuro and abdo..and few drawings from spinal cord injury. i missed 2/3 graphs due to shortage of time ..those i dnt remember properly.
what i think .. is if u do physio from kaplan ..all the graphs and also from the qs at the end of each chap..it wud be enough.

Hello My friends.....i wish u all a very very Happy and prosperous New Year 2008 !!
this ws the fourth wednesday ystrday..and i am still waiting for my result....no body has got it even this week i guess....they didnt release in last two wed....26th and 2nd becoz of holidays.....
i hvnt started studying for step 2 yet..which i shud hv..actually i cudnt manage to get hard copy books till now. so the only option is i need to print out the books.
I wish u all Good Luck and may all ur dreams be fulfilled ..

I want to thank u all my friends here..who has supported me from the very beginning. i studied alone at home..bt with u i felt like i am in a big group.
i thought results wud be out next wed..yesterday night suddenly got the mail.
when i saw the score i ws disappointed, to be very honest.
i am happy that i have passed..bt those who know me or read my first post of this journal..know what condition i was in. i really needed a high score. i did not expect a 99 bt something above 95.
but now i know my prep was not adequate enough to get that score even.
i am a bit sad..coz now the path became even more harder. but i have to carry on.
i always did well in school and medical college, bt the results for mle is shattering my confidence.
i still want to study hard and get a 99 in step 2. hope this time i will be honest with myself and work really hard .
i had thought of writing an exam exp separately, but now i think i am nt in a position to gv advice coz i studied very haphazardly.
but still, if i can be of any help, pls let me know.
now i must move on to step 2..which i plan to take in march end ..havnt started yet.
