Do u know why u failed the exam. I am taking my second attempt. for me i know I was reading but not understanding. I knew the whats but didnt know the why's?

before thinking of residencies I think u shud concenrate on your exams. with out exams you cannot even apply.

Congratulations on clearing CS. It is one of the most daunting test. So now you know you will be accepted as a physician. That is very important and u have proven to yourself that u r one.

My personal recommendation would be to for you to take your step one again. Then concentrate on CK. Take the test step wise. It makes more sense and u will be better prepared for CK.

CK scores matter the most from what I hear. There will always be differing views and different advice.

For me I know I will take the plunge. If I don't try I wont ever know.

So with out being concerned about residency applications and admissions concentrate on getting your exam out of the way.

Get into a clinical rotation externships or observerships and try from that angle if nothing else works.

I say never give up on your dream. But it is one thing to dream and another to do some thing about it.

Good luck. Once you have put your mind to it I am sure you can do this.

It is hard!!
I am taking my step 1 for the second time!!
Dont give back. Congratulations for your pregnancy!! How wonderful it is!!

did you do any of the NBME's how did you do before the exam.
I have always prefered the option of delaying to failing. So for the CK if you do not feel 75-100% ready please delay the exam.

Never give up .Trust nbme more than anything else .I think you should go only if you are in safe zone acc to nbme to defer the heartache . .I was to give the exam but let the eligibilty period pass by because many people on forums advised me to wait and study more .My uw score average was 55% not so safe .
And yes, congrats on your pregnancy .I am in 28th week as well .I am preparing for step one.I understand the rush of taking exam quickly due tp pregnancy but my hubby said one day that it is not the exam day that matters .It's the preparation for it that takes longer .Keep studyingnod and go as soon as u get green light from nbme .
Don't worry about california laws .I'm sure you can do residency in other states

Don't give up. First its not easy studying fot this exam.....2nd its even tougher being pregnant and studying.

You are doctor....be confident you can pass. Also take the test when you are prepared ( you will know that from your NBME result), not because you have too.

See, what your weak areas are...and focus on those first. Make sure you understand concepts, facts are important.....but concepts are golden for step 1.

Good Luck with your exam and Congrats on pregnancy.
