the doctor mentioned in the LOR that I have passed USMLE with over 90 percentiles, my scores are above 90 but I know that USMLE score is not a percentile score, should I ask him to edite the letter and remove the word percentile, or it's not a big deal.

I don't think it is such a big deal..... it is just a small error, nothing to worry about. It would be more complicated to ask him/her to change it plus you could probably offend him/her.

but guys can anybody tell me if a lor refers to some shortcomings of yours

Technically, LOR should mention you as "drop-dead" gorgeous. Any shortcoming mentioned in the LOR can really hurt your application...and can hurt it more if it s from a top-shot.

That said, only you can exactly judge whether or not to use a LOR that mentions some shortcomings - coz you are the only person here who knows what exactly the letter says. I would suggest that you try to put yourself into a PD's position and then think about what would you make of somebody who has an lor like yours...

dicey situation, eh? yeah, but well..thats the way things are...goodluck!
