as far as i know, it's a requirement for everyone(both AMG & FMG) to get registered by NRMP while ECFMG token is only for the FMG's......buddy don't go into details of who collects the money...just follow the instructions & pay so that u can participate in the match. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US Dr. Luck

i am trying my best here.. if u look closing the full forms of the words they will give u the explanatoin.. ERAS: is a system which is for application process of residency..everyone has to done ( IMG and AMG) ECFMG: is the deans office for IMGS..they send your documents to the programs where u are applying ( in case of AMG's the deans office send those). NRMP is a software rather than place where all these combinations are done.both AMA's and IMGs has to register here if you want to match a program. hope this helps...i had all these doubts...try reading 2 books which i uploaded here, i dont know where it went..

By signing to the NRMP you will be included in the match process (the algorithm done with the ranking and stuff) if you don't sign to the NRMP you would not be included in the match... it is that simple

so with the info given above, I guess there is no real urgency of getting registered with NRMP, as this matching algorithm takes place quite late, is is true ?

That's true rockingdoctor but since everybody is excited everybody wants to do it right away but as you wisely said there is no urgency. The same goes for the sept 1 timeframe....everybody goes nuts for applying at midnight on sept 1 and the truth is sept 1 is a weekend and it would not help to do it that day and even the first 2 weeks but people is just excited jijijiji so if you can't do it right away don't worry.
